Presentations
BirdNUTZ bird-related presentations are of an entertaining,
or instructive nature, and usually, both. I have a large collection
of images from which to draw, most of which I have taken. I do
presentations about birding in California, Alaska, Hawaii and
Costa Rica. I can cover the birds found in these locations by
family grouping or habitats. I can also cover subjects like plumage,
migration, behavior, and sounds. Images and sound are merged and
presented digitally. Indoor presentations can run from 30 minutes
to 2 hours (with a short intermission). Presentations can be combined
with a field trip.
Photography
Photography by Les Chibana/BirdNUTZ are available
for publication. Please look at some of the images at the Photos
link for examples. These are typically cropped and formatted for
optimum subject visibility, browser download times, and documentary
purposes. Look for an upcoming photo gallery on this site with
images of a more artistic nature. Please contact
me for images that I might have, usage rights, and reasonable
pricing.
Gift Certificates
Gift certificates are available for your birding
friends and loved ones. Attractive, handmade certificates are
created by my wife, Mary Elsener, and provide a stunning presentation
for your gift. And, of course, you can purchase as many trips
as you want for your gift.
Graphic Design and Production
My other "hat" is Chibana Design, graphic
design and production. If you have need for a well-thought out
and designed printed communication, an ad to place in a publication,
or a website, let's talk! I can outsource Flash and back-end programming
if your web needs encompass these functionalities.
Macintosh Computer Tutoring
If you're having trouble keeping up with computer
technology in our ever-digitizing world, and your computer of
choice is an Apple Macintosh, talk to me. I can help. I have many
more years of experience than I care to think of life with a Macintosh.
As a graphic designer who embraced the Mac from its inception,
I have spent more hours sitting in front of a Mac than any normal
person. I have lived and breathed Macintoshes in a networked environment,
troubleshot them at their worst behavior, and coaxed more life
out of old models than was necessary. I've been managing computer
systems for so long that when I acquired my former company's domain
name, three letter domain names were still available! I first
added an external drive to our office computer when the choice
was between a 5- and a 10-Megabyte hard drive. I even awaited
and saw the first Macintosh TV ad, dubbed "1984". If
you need help taming your Mac, talk to me! My rates are reasonable,
especially because I understand your frustration. Your experience
with computers doesn't have to be that way. My service area is
limited to a resonable driving distance from the South San Francisco
Bay Area.
