Private Guiding
If you are planning to visit California, especially
the San Francisco Bay Area, and would like to get in some birding,
I can help you out. I can maximize your time spent birding in
the area. For non-California birders, I can help you find and
see those West Coast specialties. It's a good idea to let me know
what species you'd like to see so that I can assess current status
and seasonal possibilities. What I don't know, I can find out
from my numerous contacts in the birding community.
If you live in the area and would like to have a
customized trip for you and your birding friends, please do give
me a call to discuss your birding preferences. I can design intimate
trips for two to six people, or take up to 20 people from your
organization to appropriate areas that can handle large groups.
My focus is on providing a good birding experience
for you. Whether you like to keep pushing for long hours chasing
down a specialty, or prefer a more relaxed pace, enjoying the
experience rather than ticking off a list, I can tailor birding
trips for you. My basic style is of a teacher, which is great
for beginning and intermediate birders.
I have been birding in the Bay Area and beyond for
more than 30 years. I have been teaching birding classes for nearly
ten years, leading field trips during that time. My experience
in leading more extended birding ecotours includes trips to Alaska
for Sierra
Club Outings, and to Hawaii for Cheesemans'
Ecology Safaris. With the additional experience of over ten
years of bird photography, I have learned a lot about finding
birds and their behavior, and I would love to share this with
you.
I will be updating this page with my rates and other
basics about my private guiding. Until then, please use the pigeon
at the lower left to get in touch with me. We can discuss what
you would like and see if I can help you out.
Thanks for considering BirdNUTZ!
