Bird Photos: Rarities: Sedge Wren

This bird was found by Peter Metropulos in early December 2002 at Half Moon Bay State Beach in Half Moon Bay, San Mateo County, CA. It lingered for at least several weeks. It usually took a bit of patience and effort to find it.

I understand the one of the good fieldmarks for a Sedge Wren is the barred wing coverts. This individual called fairly constantly with its double-chip vocalization.

I took these photos on 12/10/02.
